Manifesto for the the school day of peace and non-violence
Today we celebrate the School Day of Peace and non-violence, coinciding with the anniversary of Gandhi's death, a good man that excelled for his serch for Peace.
Jesus wishes us the peace that comes from the heart and love as brothers. He sends us his Spirit that encourages and helps us to find it.
 We, the School Community of Santa Joaquina de Vedruna of Cartagena, members of the Catholic Church and citizens of the world, manifest that:
- We reject any form of violence that attacks on human dignity.
- We reject any form of discrimination on the grounds of religion, nationality, ideology, race, social condition, man or woman.
- We reject any method to solve human problems which is not based on dialogue, understanding and respect.
- We desire an understanding of hearts and minds for all men and people.
- We desire there are not people more important than others and that we are all equal.
- We want the wars to end and the violence.

Dear parents and students,
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone for your generosity, interest and collaboration provided to the CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN to collect food that our centre has organized one more year. We remind you that, with your expressions of solidarity, you have contributed to alleviate people´s and institutions´ needs of our environment, who are going through complicated times due to the current difficult economic situation.
On these dates that we celebrate the coming of the Lord into our lives, these gestures of solidarity illuminate the birth of a new world promoting justice and peace among men.

Dear families,
As you know, our school participates in the BEDA programme, an initiative coming from Catholic Schools and Cambridge ESOL Examinations, aimed at empowering and improve English teaching and a road to bilingualism.
We want to become the external evaluation process in a stimulus for our students with the purpose of achieving motivation when learning English, that they acquire more confidence when facing later studies and giving them a qualification highly valued internationally, both university and labour framework.
Within the BEDA programme, we have the possiblity of examining our students, from 3rd. year Primary Education until Higher Secondary Education (Bachillerato), in the different Cambridge ESOL examinations under advantageous conditions compared to individual registration.
Briefly we are informing you, to all interested parents, on registration deadlines and examinations dates according to level.
We encourage you to enroll your sons and daughters in this initiative that we are proposing, examining them on the most prestigious international English examinations and being rewarded by their efforts in such a way that they achieve their personal goals in the future.
We present you a table with the levels of the Commmon European Framework of Reference for Languages and the BEDA programme fees for our school for the school year 2011/ 2012 as follows.

Students from 5th. Primary Education have gone with their tutors to the road safety education park this week. This means for them a contact with the different elements regulating today our cities, to which they are gradually incorporating: road signs, traffic lights, roads…
Our students are not just only pedestrians, they start driving vehicles, such as bicycles, and they must have an education in accordance with the urban development of their environment. If you want to see the photo album click here. |
