The past 15th. May we had an activity on reading encouragement for students of 3rd. and 4th. Primary Education at the Assembly Hall. The writer Ricardo Alcántara visited our students who had an enjoyable and educational experience with his book “House of fears” published by Edelvives publishing house.
Students could participate in several activities and games, proposed by the author, and later they asked some questions on the book and his career as a writer.
At the end of the event, the autor kindly signed with pleasure all the students´ books who went up on the stage. Happy and funny students´ faces were clearly seen, so they enjoyed and spent an special and entertaining day. + 3 + 0 |

You have a link of a book in a comic style and pdf format below, from 1960, telling the life and works of the last canonized saint by the Catholic Church at these times, Saint Joachima de Vedruna. A treasure we hope you like it.

Our school´s Pastoral Team asked the VIC Charity-belonging to the Congregation –to collaborate, in this school year 2011/12, with two charity projects managed by the Sisters in Peru.
One of the projects is to develop a craft workshop and support the development of Celendín women´s handicrafts. In that way they get resources to overcome poverty and feed their families. The other one is to train disadvantaged youth to leave marginalization and, at the same time, help street children with family problems and drug addition to leave the streets.
In both projects the Carmelite Sisters are supported by their communities.
We are helping them with the collaboration of the "KILOMETER CHARITY 2012" and the "SAINT JOACHIMA´S CELEBRATION".
We are conscious of the bad economic situation we are going through in Spain. We have compromised now to get 8,850 € for our brothers in Peru.
Generosity is a virtue featuring Spanish people.
We are sure that this aim will be fulfilled.
Thanks in advance for your generous contribution. We also contribute training our students, your sons and daughters, to be supportive and altruistic. And be happier in that way. + 9 + 1 |

Our school is actively collaborating in the sale of numbers for the Solidarity March organized by the Hospitalidad Santa Teresa.
CHEER UP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, YOU CAN SPEND A GOOD DAY AND HELP OTHERS!!!!
AND IF YOU CAN´T GO, BUY YOUR NUMBER, THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO HELP.
The Hospitalidad Santa Teresa is a NON-PROFIT Charity Association, saw the light of day on 28th. May 1916, whose main aim is to attend marginalized PEDESTRIANS, understanding as such those uprooted people from the normal coexistence framework, that usually walk, lack of sufficient livelihood and they usually go to social institutions in search of help to survive.
They also attend immigrants and local people in need and are homeless because of the bad weather consitions (gales, floodings, rains, etc.), or coexistence problems.
Although the Hospitalidad is not a Residence, and only solve specific problems, each case is studied in collaboration with the Municipal Socia Services and stays are extended depending on each situation, having the case of attending some people for years.
All services are free and include lodging, three meals, personal higiene, donation of used and suitable clothing, and hair salon. The Hospitalidad is financed by Grants from the Autonomous Community, Town Council, private and company donations and membership fees. They currently give around 14,000 annual stays. + 8 + 0 |
